Botanical Walk with John Hamilton - Stringybark Hill

Take a short walk with John Hamilton through a very gentle incline to immerse yourself in a stand of remnant Stringy Bark and Black Gum, with a rich understorey, both naturally occurring and planted, that showcase the breadth and unique beauty of Tasmania's flora. At this time of year, you will discover some of our favourites, the wonderful little native orchids.

John Hamilton is the Founder & Director of the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo. John is a naturalist and one of the fathers of Tasmanian nature tourism, who began his work with the island’s unique fauna and flora in 1978. Join John as he showcases a diverse piece of the magnificent Tasman Peninsula in Southeast Tasmania, the last safe refuge for wild Tasmanian devils on the planet and a birder’s paradise.
