Botanical Walk with John Hamilton - Unzoo ecosystem

Walk with John Hamilton through the regenerated landscape to the waterfront of Norfolk Bay. Over the last 48 years we have nurtured the evolution of our old farming property back to restored habitats for the local wild native animals. John will identify and discuss some of the 150 native plant species identified. Learn about Tasmanian bush foods and walk among towering eucalypts along nearly 2 km of bushland trails.

John Hamilton is the Founder & Director of the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo. John is a naturalist and one of the fathers of Tasmanian nature tourism, who began his work with the island’s unique fauna and flora in 1978. Join John as he showcases a diverse piece of the magnificent Tasman Peninsula in Southeast Tasmania, the last safe refuge for wild Tasmanian devils on the planet and a birder’s paradise.
