ByAdunke: Bottoms Up — Upcycled Denim Laptop Bag Workshop

Turn your old denim into something new.

Join ByAdunke at the SewConscious Center for Circular Design for Bottoms Up, a hands-on upcycling workshop experience where creativity, circular fashion, and sewing come together.

For our first Bottoms Up workshop, participants will transform a pair of denim pants into a functional, one-of-a-kind laptop bag.

Over the course of this three-hour workshop, you'll be guided through the creative process of deconstructing an existing garment and giving the material an entirely new purpose. You'll learn practical upcycling and sewing techniques while creating a piece you can actually use — and take home with you at the end of the evening.

No need to buy new denim. We encourage you to look in your own closet and bring a pair of pants you're ready to reimagine. A limited number of backup pairs will also be available for participants who need them.

Your $45 Workshop Experience Includes

• Three hours of hands-on instruction

• Guidance in garment deconstruction and upcycling techniques

• Sewing instruction and use of SewConscious equipment

What to Bring

Bring one pair of denim pants or jeans that you're willing to cut, deconstruct, and transform.

Choose something you no longer wear, something damaged, or a pair that's simply been sitting in your closet waiting for another life.

Don't have a pair? We will have a limited supply of denim available on a first-come basis.

Who Is This Workshop For?

Bottoms Up is designed for anyone interested in exploring upcycling, sewing, fashion, or creative reuse. You don't have to be a fashion designer to participate — come ready to learn, create, and experiment.
