Boundaries and Ethics; a Bespoke Session with Dr Chris Taua
Event description
EVENT SOLD OUT.
Professionals working in the social services sector often face complex situations where their dedication to supporting others can challenge both personal and professional boundaries. With team members coming from a range of backgrounds and experiences, there is often no shared understanding of what 'professional boundaries and ethics' truly mean in practice.
To support those navigating these challenges, CFVC is pleased to offer a specialised session with Dr Chris Taua. Dr Chris has over 25 years of experience in mental health, education, and community services. Her expertise includes mental health, disability, ethics, communication, de-escalation, and culturally safe practice. Her PhD focused on mental health experiences of people with intellectual disability, and she remains a leading voice on cultural safety. As Director of Pumahara Consultants and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland, Chris is known for her engaging and practical teaching. This workshop offers a valuable chance to deepen your knowledge and skills with guidance from a true expert.
This training is designed for practitioners with existing experience in the sector; it is not an introductory course, but one that builds on prior knowledge and real-world application. The session will focus specifically on ethical considerations and boundary-setting within social service environments, addressing the nuanced issues social workers and related professionals commonly face.
We are delighted to offer this session at a significantly reduced rate for the sector (normally $149). Light refreshments will be provided.
Please note: Spaces are limited and expected to fill quickly, don’t miss out.
