Boundaries - every relationship needs them, yet very few have them. Why? Because we have never been taught to know what we truly need, never mind have the courage to ask for it!
Boundaries are an inescapable part of everyday life. Whether raising a child, supporting a partner, or responding to an email, we are continually invited to participate in each other’s lives.
Healthy, robust, personal boundaries are the key to living a fulfilled, empowered, and self directed life but can be a very complex road to navigate. We are often presented with the delicate tension between meeting our needs and meeting the needs of others. It is often unclear how much of ourselves we should give, and making decisions can be fraught with doubt. Furthermore, taking care of ourselves might disappoint others or create feelings of discomfort.
Regardless of the difficulty, the practice of setting personal boundaries (a daily ongoing practice!) is one of the most essential tools for emotionally and mentally healthy living. When we have a sense of what our needs, non negotialbles and preferences are, and we can communicate them effectively, we can then live with more serenity and clarity in all of our interpersonal relationships.
In this fun, interactive workshop we will:
- Understand the importance of boundaries in every relationship for our mental, emotional and social health
- Learn the different types of boundaries (physical/energetic, mental, emotional, time, material)
- Learn to identify where we have weak boundaries in each of the aforementioned categories, and tips/scripts to move from weak to healthy boundaries in a fun, creative way.
