Looking for something to tide you over before this year's Infinity Worm? As always, Boundary has got you covered.

PRESENTING: GIANT SWAN (UK) on Friday the 18th of August.

A controlled exploration of chaos.
Feral performances.
Masters of Improvisation.

Two words, Giant Swan.

Supporting the likes of Autechre and Actress across their Australian tours, Giant Swan are making the trip to the capital to bring their raucous live performance to Sideway. Is it punk? Is it techno? Is it a large water-based bird? The only thing we are sure of is that the duo will be unleashing their thunderous live set, treating Canberran audiences to their masterful blending of thumping percussion and swirling noise. The duo has seen a large rise in recent years - performances at Glastonbury, Berghain, Sonar, in addition to their production credits for in-demand groups like Mandy, Indiana paints the picture of a best-kept secret slowly emerging onto the world stage.

Forged in the fires of Bristol's punk and electronic scenes, the duo originally started as bandmates, jamming together to prepare for their ambitious improvised performances, before the duo's performances began to take on a life of their own as Giant Swan. Equal parts punk and electronic, they fall between two genres known for their intensity and dynamism, harnessing the power of modern hardware to bring punk's distortion and grit to transcendent levels. There is no better place for them in Canberra than a venue that hosts music from both styles, but these two worlds have not crossed over like this before.

Come to sideway on Friday the 18th of August to see the group in the flesh, with our supporting artists TBA.

If you're reading this tickets are now live - we recommend getting in quick.

As always, everyone who is warm is welcome at our shows.

Irrespective of age, gender, race, colour, and so on, the emphasis is on building healthy pluralistic communities who love music. If you disrupt the experience of other patrons, you will be removed from the show. Harassment, intimidation or discrimination of any kind is not welcome.
