Bountiful Backyards Workshop Weekend 2025

Over a packed weekend, gardeners experienced and new, young, old and in-between will be able to learn about a wide range of spring gardening-related topics, including apple tree grafting, seed sowing and propagation, managing soil fertility, easy organic growing, biochar and much more.

There will be workshops specifically for children and all attendees will go home inspired, with new ideas, confidence, plants and seeds to kick off their spring gardening!

Saturday features short beginner sessions and Sunday is for those seeking more in-depth knowledge. There will also be local garden tours on Sunday afternoon.

Food, seeds and plants will be available to buy on Saturday.

Tickets are priced to be as affordable as we can make them, and are on a sliding-scale, so you can pay what you can afford. We have included a 'suggested price' as a guideline.

For those with transport challenges, we will be running super cheap minivans from Invercargill and around Western Southland (you will need to book tickets for this).
