Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD): Fostering Realistic Hope is the Bouverie Centre's free group workshop for a family carer, friend or partner of someone experiencing BPD or BPD symptoms.

Whether seeking guidance, support, or a space to share your experiences, this workshop offers a welcoming environment where families can learn and grow together and the opportunity to connect with others who understand your journey.

Workshop style

Fostering Realistic Hope invites participants to share and respond to their and others' experiences of living with BPD and the effects it has on their lives and relationships.

This workshop is facilitated by Dr. Peter McKenzie. With his expert knowledge and expertise, you will explore your understanding and ideas around the factors contributing to the experience of BPD and the impacts on relationships and families. The workshop aims to provide realistic ways to promote and support positive relationships and initiatives.

Sharing, witnessing, and contributing to each others' stories
Relational mindfulness
Restarting reflection / "re-storying" the conversation
Acknowledgement / validation
Relational limit setting

Collection and storage of family information

In order to provide family therapy or group therapy for families at The Bouverie Centre, we are required to collect the information requested at registration. We do this to meet the requirements of our funding body, the Victorian Department of Health.
