Event description

Are you a parent, carer, educator or professional who wants to better understand and manage children’s screen time?

Recent data reveals that 90% of Australian children aged 5–14 engage in screen-based activities every week, with almost one in four spending more than 20 hours online — well above health guidelines. This surge in digital use is reshaping how children learn, interact and develop.

Join Dr Brad Marshall, The Unplugged Psychologist, for an engaging live workshop in Lawson. Through real-life examples, humour, and a non-judgmental tone Dr Brad helps audiences understand the psychology behind screen overuse and how to foster healthier digital habits for children. This session will cover social media, gaming, and smartphones/devices.

Following Dr Brad's keynote speech, we will break for supper, and then return for an interactive Q&A session. Your chance to ask Brad all the curly questions!

You will walk away with:

  • An understanding of how to spot the warning signs of tech overuse

  • Practical strategies to set and maintain healthy boundaries around technology use

  • Tools to improve communication with children about online risks and digital habits
