Coffee, a mannequin head, a few hair ties — and absolutely no expectation that you already know what you’re doing.

Braids + Coffee is a relaxed, hands-on morning for dads who want to feel more confident helping with their child’s hair.

Over two hours, we’ll work through the practical basics — preparing and detangling hair, getting a ponytail right and learning a simple three-strand braid — with plenty of time to practise and ask questions as you go.

You’ll work on a mannequin head, so there’s no need to bring the kids, and you don’t need any experience.

This isn’t a formal class or a parenting seminar. It’s a coffee, a couple of useful skills, a few laughs and the chance to leave knowing you can actually have a go next time you hear:

“Dad, can you do my hair?”

Dad Mode creates relaxed, practical experiences where dads can build confidence without feeling judged or out of place.

You might have never held a braid in your life. You might already manage a ponytail but want to know what comes next.

Expect a relaxed, small-group morning where everyone is there for roughly the same reason: to get a little more capable at something their child might need them to do.

We’ll start with the basics and work through everything together. You’ll practise each technique yourself, with help nearby when you need it.

Nobody is being tested. Nobody cares if your first braid is wonky.

The goal isn’t perfection.

It’s leaving Frenchies more confident than when you walked in — and knowing where to start when you try it on the real thing at home.
