Two events in one: A fantastic folk music concert PLUS a 'Big Sing' event where you can participate in making the music!

Our CONCERT featuring the Catherine Fraser Trio will start at 3pm. Catherine Fraser, based in Adelaide, is one of the most prominent Scottish fiddle players and composers in Australia. Joined by accomplished musicians Rachel Johnston on cello and Trent Arkleysmith on guitar, the trio perform superb arrangements of both traditional and contemporary Scottish fiddle music. The trio have received rave reviews for performances at the National Folk Festival, Fairbridge Festival and the National Celtic Festival Australia.

Some floor spots will also be available within the concert if you would like to perform your own song, tune or poem - If so, please contact us at braidwoodfolkclub@gmail.com.

Following the concert and a short break, from around 4:30pm our inaugural folk club 'BIG SING' session will be held for those who would like to learn and sing some simple rounds and folk-style harmony songs as a group in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Song words and instruction will be provided and all are very welcome to join in! (we do ask that children participating remain under adult carer's supervision).

Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $15 for Braidwood Folk Music Club members/ concession, with children under 16 free. Tickets can be purchased either using the 'Get Tickets' button here in Humanitix or at the door on the date of the event. We hope you will want to attend both the concert and the singing session but you are free to attend just one of these sessions if preferred. If attending only the Big Sing event, you can select the '$10 or pay what you want' option on the ticketing page. All money raised will support the feature artists and future folk club activities.

For those who would like to join/ renew membership with the Braidwood Folk Music Club, you can do this via our online BFMC 2022 Membership Form or in person at the event. Membership is cost-free for the remainder of 2022.
