Brassica Collective Collaborators Launch
Description
It's clear that our existing approaches to housing are not prepared provide us with the shelter that we need during changing times.
The Brassica Collective has been working to build a specific project to pool what resources we have, buy houses across the norther suburbs, retrofit them for the climate crisis, and learn to live collectively.
As we approach our first house purchase, we'd like to take a moment to share our stories with with you, including how we navigate change and conflict together, and how we expect to change ourselves for the future.
This will be a collaborative talk, with about 45 minutes of presentation from us, and room for audience discussion. We're also launching our processes for "collaborators", people who would like to be invited in to follow the project and be involved at key moments, without having to directly participate in collective living.
If you're an existing friend of the project, who would love to hear what we've been up to, or someone exploring many different approaches to the polycrisis, we'd love to share our story with you.
After the event, at 12pm, we're also welcoming anyone who wants to continue to hang out, to picnic with us at the Coburg lake. Please BYO your own picnic gear and something to share, although it's also fine to join in without bringing anything.
Kids are very welcome at this event
We'll have an arts and crafts table and a cosy nook set up to occupy young folks during the talk.
