Event description

Writing your story is an act of bravery and the pathway to freedom. - Carolyn Tate

Find your voice. Free your inner writer. Write stories of impact and change.

Do you have a story inside just waiting to be written? Are you suppressing your inner voice and wondering if your story is worth writing?

Throughout history, women’s voices and stories have remained hidden and untold. Despite progress towards equality, there are still significant obstacles that prevent women from telling their stories.

Brave Women Write is an invitation to join a movement of women writing women's stories. When we come together to find our voice and write our stories, we begin to make a dent in the man-made universe to rebalance history with herstory.

Please join me for a fun night to workshop and share our stories over a scrumptious vegetarian Indian dinner.

Together we'll discuss:

  • Why women's stories matter and why your story matters.
  • How to free the writer within and make writing a regular practice.
  • The many ways to write and tell your story.
  • The foundations of a good story. What you are writing? Why you are writing it? Who you are writing it for?
  • Story archetypes; The Heroine's Journey, The Divine Feminine, Mother Nature, fairytales & fables.

The dinner is hosted in the communal room at Clifton Hill where I live in a purpose-built community of like-minded people. It's a most welcoming and friendly environment.

Bring your friends. Food & non-alcoholic drinks provided. BYO alcohol if you wish.

Because your story matters.

Here's what Pam said about the last dinner.

"The meal was superb ….the variety of vegetarian fare was delicious. I loved the beautiful community space ..the fresh flowers, the warm, welcoming women who shared their insights as well as listening keenly to others. I felt heard! I liked the seating arrangement, enabling women who had already started their writing journey to share their insights and to enable the women who were taking (some a tad tentatively!) their first steps towards writing. Thank you again Carolyn for providing a most memorable, fun-filled and productive evening.'
