Brazilian Beats Workshop with Ana

This will be a group drumming workshop for queer adults in a low pressure, joyful space. Beginners and first timers encouraged! This event will take place fortnightly starting on Thursday 25 September.

About the host:

I’m Ana Tiene (they/them), non binary drummer, originally from Brazil and based in London since 2012. I studied percussion in Brazil, where rhythm has always been a deep part of my cultural and personal identity. I have experience teaching drums workshops in a social context to children with Deva Mille’s Toque da Lata and Batuca with Tampa in Ribeirão Preto and region.

Here in the UK, I drum with Trouble Wanted, a queer DIY band, and I’m a member of F*Choir, a radical and gender-expansive community choir. My recent work includes collaborations with artist, poet, writer Daniella Valz Gen as part of their Writer in Residency at the Whitechapel Gallery.
