Event description

BRAZILIAN DANCE WORKSHOP A Workshop with Karina Christie

“Dance the Prayer: Movement as Medicine for the Earth and Soul”

Facilitated by:

Karina Christie : Dancer, teacher, and vessel for movement-as-prayer.

Overview

In times of turmoil and transformation, our bodies remember the way.

This is a movement journey for those longing to reconnect with their inner fire, transmute emotion, and offer their energy as prayer and restoration to the Earth.

Through guided dance, embodied exploration, and the Silvestre Technique rooted in Afro-Brazilian culture, we move beyond choreography into sacred expression.

What to Expect

• Embodied Prayer: Movement as offering, intention, and transformation

• Rhythm and Ritual: Afro-Brazilian music and grounding movement

• Integration Circle: Reflection, grounding, and shared prayer

This workshop is open to all bodies and levels of experience. You do not need to be a trained dancer, just willing to listen, feel, and move.

Why Join

• Reconnect to your creative and emotional center

• Move stagnant energy and express what is unspoken

• Honor the Earth through intentional movement

• Leave feeling lighter, clearer, and deeply rooted

From Karina:

This journey is not about perfecting a step. It’s about remembering the ancient dance within us, the one that prays through sweat, sound, and stillness. May our movement offer renewal and balance back to Mother Earth and our own hearts.
