Event description

🎬 Chico Bento is coming to Sydney and Gold Coast β€” and CASA is so happy to be part of it!

OlÑ! 🌞

It’s time to celebrate our stories, our people, and our cinema on the big screen!

One of Brazil’s most beloved comic book characters, Chico Bento, from Turma da MΓ΄nica, is making his big-screen debut in his first live-action film: Chico Bento e a Goiabeira Maravilhosa (Chuck Billy and the Marvelous Guava Tree), directed by Fernando Fraiha and co-written by the legendary Mauricio de Sousa himself.

This special moment goes beyond cinema β€” it’s about celebrating our roots, our stories, and the joy of seeing our childhood come to life on screen.

πŸŽ₯ Screenings:

  • Sydney: Join us at the Centro Cultural Brasileiro, in partnership with the Brazilian Consulate, for a free family screening on Saturday, November 1st.

  • Gold Coast: We’re partnering with CASA to strengthen our community ties, with the film screening at the Broadbeach Community Centre on Sunday, November 2nd.

🌿 During the festival, come visit our CASA space β€” filled with connection, purpose, and love.
You’ll find our solidarity t-shirts there: each shirt sold helps feed a family of four.
It’s a simple gesture, but one that carries real meaning.

This special screening is proudly sponsored by Bionica Films, in partnership with the Brazilian Film Festival β€” celebrating the magic of cinema and the beauty of sharing Brazilian stories with our little ones.

πŸ’› Being part of this festival means more than watching a movie β€” it’s about celebrating who we are, where we come from, and how love connects us all.

Please note: This is a special screening for children. Tickets are not valid for adults unaccompanied by children.

With love and gratitude,
CASA
