    Event description

Catherine, an Airforce veteran, will share her inspiring story of overcoming career and life challenges to succeed.

Born to Maltese immigrant parents and being the eldest daughter with six siblings, Cathy’s life was never going to be dull, but her fortitude facing career and life challenges, is nothing short of inspirational.

Cathy grew up on a sugar cane farm in Mackay and after leaving school at just 14 worked as a legal secretary for five years before she enlisted in the RAAF, where she served in Australia and Malaysia and on overseas operational deployments to East Timor, Kyrgyzstan Central Asia and the Middle East, becoming a Commissioned Officer in 2001.

Having met her husband of 37 years, Glenn, very early after enlisting, Cathy retired as a Senior Commissioned Officer to Caloundra in 2011 after 28 years military service, where she actively volunteers in the community and is currently the first female president at the Caloundra RSL Services Club, having been elected in 2019, after being on the board since 2014.

Buderim Foundation is delighted to have Catherine Stamp as the special guest for the July Breakfast, to share her unique experiences as a woman, the daughter of migrants and a veteran.
