Webinar: Breaking Barriers: Creating More Neuroinclusive Workplaces
Description
Breaking Barriers: Creating More Inclusive Workplaces
Some of the biggest barriers neurodivergent employees face aren’t always obvious. They can be built into the everyday ways we communicate, run meetings, manage workloads, set expectations and define what engagement or good performance should look like.
An employee may appear to be coping while managing challenges others cannot see. A highly capable person may struggle when their capacity, environment or priorities change. And sometimes, well-intended workplace practices can create barriers without anyone realising it.
Join us for this webinar as we explore the barriers neurodivergent people can experience at work and what workplaces can do differently. Through an open and practical panel discussion, we’ll look at how everyday workplace practices and expectations can affect neurodivergent employees, including challenges that may be less visible or easily recognised.
What we’ll explore:
Bringing together their different perspectives and experiences, Dan Wilkins, Caroline Beresford and Michelle Ridsdale will discuss what these barriers can look like in practice, how they can affect people at work, and the practical changes leaders, managers and teams can make to create more inclusive ways of working.
Together, they’ll discuss:
Hidden workplace barriers and the effort colleagues may not see
Masking, sensory needs and psychological safety at work
Executive functioning, cognitive load and changing capacity
Why capability and consistency aren’t always the same thing
Creating safer conversations about support and adjustments
Communication, meetings and workplace expectations
Balancing individual support with more inclusive team practices
Practical changes leaders and teams can start making now
