Breaking Bread, Building Bonds Community Dinner
Event description
As we all strive to manage parenting in these trying and complicated times, it is especially important to build and hold space for community.
On Sunday, October 15th from 7:00-9:00 pm, our doors will be open to the entire Brooklyn community for our Breaking Bread, Building Bonds Community Dinner. RSVP required; event is FREE.
GRAB A SEAT AT THE TABLE WITH YOUR FELLOW PARENTS & NEW YORKERS!
ALL New Yorkers and Brooklynites raising children are invited to grab a seat around the table to break bread and build bonds with each other. Join together with your diverse neighbors and friends, share a delicious, complimentary meal, and exchange our stories with each other.
HOW WILL DINNER WORK?
Fellow parents from the community will serve as table hosts to facilitate a meaningful and engaging conversation. We can share both the successes and challenges we face as parents and caregivers trying to raise strong, resilient, kind, open-minded, and confident children here in our great city.
Join us as at our table for a complimentary dinner on Sunday, October 15th and take part in this citywide initiative where everyday New Yorkers can come together to listen and learn from each other.
We look forward to breaking bread and building bonds with you.
WHAT IS BREAKING BREAD, BUILDING BONDS?
Breaking Bread, Building Bonds is a citywide initiative from Mayor Eric Adams that aims to cultivate the immense diversity of our city by bringing everyday New Yorkers together around the dinner table for a shared meal to learn about common bonds, share cultures and traditions, and break down silos between communities.
This initiative is being led by the Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes (OPHC), Mayor's Community Affairs Unit (CAU), and City Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) in partnership with The People's Supper.
