Frequently Asked Questions
Breakthrough Breathwork FAQ's What is breakthrough breathwork? Breakthrough breathwork is a powerful healing technique that uses conscious, connected breathing patterns to access deeper states of awareness and release stored emotions and trauma from the body. It's designed to help you break through barriers that have been holding you back, allowing suppressed energy and emotions to surface and be released naturally. What can I expect during the session? You'll experience a guided breathing journey that may bring up a range of sensations - physical, emotional, and energetic. Some people feel tingling, warmth, or emotional releases like crying or laughter. Others experience profound calm and clarity. Every journey is unique and exactly what you need in that moment. Do I need any experience with breathwork? Not at all! This session is designed for everyone, whether you're completely new to breathwork or have been practising for years. I'll guide you through everything step by step, creating a safe and supportive environment for your journey. What should I wear? Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to breathe freely and move easily. Think yoga clothes or comfy trackies. Avoid anything tight around your waist or chest. Will I be lying down the whole time? Yes, most of the breathwork is done lying on your back on a yoga mat. This position allows your body to fully relax and receive the benefits of the breathing technique. Is it safe? Breathwork is generally very safe when practised with a qualified instructor. However, it's not suitable for everyone. Please review our safety guidelines and consult your GP if you have any health concerns, particularly heart and respiratory conditions, high blood pressure, or if you're pregnant. What if I feel overwhelmed during the session? Your safety and comfort are my top priority. I'll be there to support you throughout the entire journey. If you feel overwhelmed, you can always return to normal breathing, and I'll provide guidance and support. You're always in control of your experience. Will I have an emotional release? Some people do experience emotional releases during breathwork - this might include crying, laughing, or feeling anger. This is completely normal and often very healing. However, not everyone has an emotional release, and that's perfectly fine too. Trust that your body will give you exactly what you need. How will I feel afterwards? Most people report feeling deeply relaxed, calm, and clear after a session. You might feel energised or peaceful, or you might feel like you need to rest. Some people experience continued processing for a few days afterwards, which is completely normal. Can I drive home afterwards? Yes, you should be fine to drive home. We include integration time at the end of the session to help you ground and centre before leaving. However, if you feel unusually emotional or spacey, please wait until you feel completely grounded before driving. How often should I do breathwork? This depends on your personal goals and how you respond to the work. Some people benefit from frequent and regular sessions, whilst others prefer to attend whenever they feel called to do deeper work. Listen to your body and intuition. What's included in the session fee? Your session includes the 2-hour guided breathwork experience, opening cacao ceremony, intention setting, sound healing elements, and integration time. All you need to bring are the comfort items listed (yoga mat, pillow, blanket, etc.). Do you offer private sessions? Yes, I offer both group and private breathwork sessions. Private sessions can be tailored specifically to your needs and goals. Please contact me directly to discuss private session options. What if I can't make it to the session I've booked? I understand that life happens, so please reach out as soon as possible to discuss. Is there an age limit? This particular session is designed for adults (18+). The deep nature of breakthrough breathwork requires emotional maturity to process what may arise. What's the difference between this and meditation? Whilst both are healing practices, breathwork is more active and intensive than traditional meditation. The specific breathing technique creates altered states of consciousness that can access deeper layers of healing than sitting meditation alone. Will this conflict with my religious beliefs? Breathwork is a secular healing practice that works with your body's natural ability to heal. It doesn't conflict with religious beliefs and can actually complement your existing spiritual practices. Can I eat before the session? Please avoid heavy meals for at least 90 minutes before the session. Light snacks are fine, but a full stomach can interfere with the breathing process and make you feel uncomfortable. What if I have claustrophobia? The session takes place in an open, well-ventilated space, and you'll be lying on your own mat with plenty of room around you. If you're concerned about feeling closed in, please let me know beforehand so I can ensure you're positioned where you feel most comfortable. Still have questions? Feel free to reach out! I'm always happy to chat about breathwork and answer any specific questions you might have about your healing journey. Looking forward to seeing you at the event.
