Breast Cancer Exhibition 2022 - Redfern Launch Evening

Event description

This photographic exhibition showcases 10 breast cancer survivors from Western Sydney, empowering women to be breast aware and make informed choices following their diagnosis.

Celebrate these amazing women and rejoice in their life post cancer.

Why I created this event:

After my breast cancer diagnosis at the age of 40, I always wanted to do something positive to give other women hope and inspiration to be positive of a future life after cancer…I sincerely believe this mindset has been a great help to me since my diagnosis.

I embarked on this project, it has become a labour of love for me, which celebrates the choices made by women and the positivity of life after cancer - giving hope and inspiration to women currently facing their own diagnosis and empowering them to champion their treatment choices. The beautiful women in this exhibition have generously shared their stories, their guidance and their scars - giving inspiration to those of us early in our journeys. The models in the exhibition range between 2.5 years to 24 years in their breast cancer remission!

The exhibition showcasing the beautiful pictures of these amazing women will take place from the 24 January - 6 February 2022 at 107 Projects.

Photographer:

This event would not be taking place without the kind support of Karen Jack from InTouch Photography. Karen gave so much of her time, patience, expertise and generously allowed us into her home over many many months! We are so grateful for Karen's kindness.

The Launch evening

A launch to this amazing event will be celebrated on Thursday 27th January from 6pm - 9pm.

The wonderful Bronya Wilkins (@bronya_creates) will indulge me, and the wonderful Luan Lawrenson-Woods (@unwritten.me) in a 1 Plus 1 style conversation, sharing our stories and how this project came to be. Promoting awareness of the importance of women's' health; being breast aware and keeping up with regular check ups...incredibly important considering the impact Covid has had on cancer diagnosis over the last 18 months.

You will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets and win exciting prizes: x1 ticket = $5 or x3 tickets = $10.

Canapés will be provided on the evening. Bar service available.

Please note that you will be required to check-in to the event and present your double vaccination status.

Proceeds from the event will go to Cancer Council NSW.

NSW Discover vouchers valid when purchasing your ticket = making it $35 for your ticket.

With gratitude

Veronica
