ABOUT THIS EVENT

Westmead Women's and Newborn Health offer a breastfeeding information session, for Hindi speaking women, which you are invited to attend.

वेस्टमेड महिला एवं नवजात शिशु स्वास्थ्य विभाग हिंदी भाषी महिलाओं के लिए स्तनपान संबंधी जानकारी सत्र आयोजित कर रहा है, जिसमें आपको आमंत्रित किया जाता है।

This class is available for women across the district who speak Hindi.

These sessions run for 1.5 hours on a Thursday from 12:00 pm. At the end of the session, there is an opportunity to ask questions. We can accommodate up to 30 bookings in this session.

यह कक्षा जिले भर की उन महिलाओं के लिए उपलब्ध है जो हिंदी बोलती हैं।

ये सेशन गुरुवार को दोपहर 12:00 बजे से 1.5 घंटे तक चलते हैं। सेशन के आखिर में सवाल पूछने का मौका मिलता है। इस सेशन में ज़्यादा से ज़्यादा 30 बुकिंग की जा सकती हैं।

Who will benefit from this Breastfeeding information session?

You may be about to become a mother for the first time, or you may have had previous difficulties breastfeeding. The breastfeeding information sessions aim to answer all your questions and explain any myths you may have heard regarding breastfeeding your baby.

स्तनपान संबंधी इस जानकारी सत्र से किसे लाभ होगा?

हो सकता है कि आप पहली बार माँ बनने वाली हों, या आपको पहले कभी स्तनपान कराने में कठिनाइयाँ आईं हों। स्तनपान संबंधी जानकारी सत्रों का उद्देश्य है आपके सभी सवालों के जवाब देना और स्तनपान के बारे में किसी भी प्रकार की मिथक जानकारी जो आपने सुनी हो, उसे दूर करना।

What is covered in the information session?

· Why breastfeeding is important and the risks of not breastfeeding

· How your breasts make milk- supply and demand

· Skin-to-skin contact and the first feed

· Feeding cues and when to feed the baby

· Positioning and attachment of baby at the breast

· Rooming in, staying close to baby

· Normal newborn behaviour

· Signs baby is feeding well

· Normal weight changes for baby and breast changes for mum

· Community supports

· Returning to work- expressing breast milk

· Impact of dummies and bottle feeding on breastfeeding

· Common breastfeeding problems

· Contraception

जानकारी सत्र में किन विषयों को शामिल किया जाएगा?

• स्तनपान क्यों महत्वपूर्ण है और स्तनपान न कराने से जुड़े ख़तरे

• स्तनों में दूध कैसे बनता है - आपूर्ति और मांग

• त्वचा से त्वचा का संपर्क और पहला फ़ीड (स्तनपान)

• संकेत जो बताते हैं कि शिशु दूध पीना चाहता है और दूध कब पिलाना चाहिए

• शिशु को स्तनपान कराते समय उसे स्तन के साथ कैसे लगाना चाहिए

• नवजात शिशु का माँ के साथ ही कमरे में रहना (Rooming in), शिशु के करीब रहना

• नवजात शिशु का सामान्य व्यवहार

• संकेत जो बताते हैं कि शिशु अच्छे से दूध ले रहा है

• शिशु के वज़न और माँ के स्तनों में होने वाले सामान्य परिवर्तन

• सामुदायिक सहायताएँ

• काम पर वापसी - स्तन दूध निकाल कर रखना (expressing breast milk)

• डमी और बोतल से दूध पिलाने के स्तनपान पर पड़ने वाले प्रभाव

Please feel free to bring a partner or support person with you. There is no need for them to have a ticket; you just need to get one for yourself. The ticket is Free (for two people).
