Event description

Get ready jazz fans, we have some exciting news! Coming to Ainslie Arts Centre 24 July, A+G presents the premiere and farewell show for Canberra bassist and composer Brendan Keller-Tuberg! Debuting his sophomore album, In Spite Of It All it features Julien Wilson, Ashley Ballat, Wilbur Whitta and Lewis Pierre-Humbert alongside international guests.

A deeply personal examination of togetherness and collectivism, the album is inspired by the likes of Talk Talk, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Andrea Keller and Ambrose Akinmusire.

The show features a standout interstate cast of Australia’s brightest young musicians and will be Canberra’s only chance to hear this music live before Brendan steals away to the US for the next stage of his musical career!

A stalwart of Canberra jazz, Brendan returned to the ACT in 2020 from the United States, having performed with Walter Smith III, Emmet Cohen, June Lee, and many others. A 2019 Freedman Fellowship nominee, he can be heard on Amanda Gardier’s ‘Flyover Country’, and Crossroads Quintet’s ‘Intertwined’.
