Bridge Day Walk
Event description
[Commitment 21: We will make the 19th of March “Bridge Day” for building bridges between believers.]
Youth PoWR (Parliament of the World’s Religions) invites you to put The Sydney Statement interfaith charter into practice by celebrating “Bridge Day” on Saturday 19 March 2022.
On this special Bridge Day, the 90th anniversary of the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, join us as we walk the pedestrian pathway of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the name of building bridges between believers from different religions!
We suggest you bring along a friend from another faith to walk in interfaith solidarity. If you wish, extend that solidarity with a picnic in the park!
We will meet at the Bridge Stairs at Milson’s Point at 11am to walk together from Milson’s Point to The Rocks. If you can’t make it at 11am, do your own Harbour Bridge interfaith walk with friends any time that day or that weekend and share your pics with us on social media!
Generated by Youth PoWR over two years and launched on Bridge Day 2021, The Sydney Statement is an interfaith charter for Building Bridges Between Believers from Different Religions. The Sydney Harbour Bridge connects people from north and south. It forms the logo for The Sydney Statement which connects people from different religions. The 21st commitment to interfaith dialogue in The Sydney Statement is making the 19th of March, the anniversary of the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, “Bridge Day”, an opportunity for people of different faiths to come together in a spirit of friendship and solidarity.
Come! Walk Together! Build Bridges!
It's free! It’s fun! It’s fresh air! It’s COVID-safe! It has great views!
