The first session in the ‘Women and Prison’ discussion series will examine the experiences of incarcerated women in NSW alongside those of incarcerated women internationally. The Bridges Inside team will kick off the session by reflecting on their experiences working in women’s correctional facilities. The second part of the discussion will bring these experiences in conversation with an excerpt from DaMaris B. Hill’s book A Bound Woman is a Dangerous Thing (2019), a narrative-in-verse that bears witness to the history of incarcerated women of colour in America.

Readings will be sent to participants upon registration.
