Bridging the Gap: Robotics Education for All
Event description
UWA Grand Challenges is an initiative taken by the smartest and most creative minds of UWA to drive social transformation and development. In fulfilment of the UWA Grand Challenge, URC is partnering with Albany WA primary schools and aligning our endeavours with the needs of your community to deliver a robotics STEM outreach program to your year 5 and year 6 students. Bridging the Gap: Robotics Education for All is a program that will expose students to the three engineering pillars of robotics - mechanical engineering, electrical/electronics engineering and software engineering - through practical hands-on activities such as block coding, and building a robot from scratch. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to explore industrial and academic robots developed by URC.
Bridging the Gap: Robotics Education for All will focus on equipping students with not only technical skills, but also transferrable skills to prepare them for success in both their education and future careers. Students who have participated in our programs have demonstrated significant academic improvement, as well as an increased enthusiasm for science and engineering.
