Event description

A night of hope with Dr Charlie Teo

Charlie Teo Foundation invites all patients and supporters to come together to share your hope and strength that together we can beat brain cancer.

Brain cancer kills more children in Australia than any other disease, and more young people under 40 than any other cancer. We must shine a bright light on this, and keep working to change outcomes for our brain cancer community.

Join Charlie at our Bright Night cocktail party and together we can inspire HOPE of a better future. Your contribution will support the brightest minds in research tackling brain cancer head-on.

Our MC for the night is Ben Fordham, Walkley award-winning journalist and host of the no. 1 breakfast radio show Ben Fordham Live on 2GB.

Don your best cocktail wear with a touch of something "bright", kick up your heels and raise a glass to the Charlie Teo Foundation at our inaugural Bright Night cocktail party

There’ll be beautiful food, wine, entertainment, auction, lucky door prizes, a raffle and of course…a few  surprises along the way!

Why did I start raising funds for brain cancer research?

Put simply, I knew there was a void that needed to be filled…

Brain cancer was treated as the orphan cancer. There was this huge void of poor funding, lack of interest and seeing the glass as half empty. The glass needed to be filled, because patients need hope. The worst thing about brain cancer is the doctors say there are no treatment options available. Then the patient says, 'I’m sure people are working on treatments, tell me that the landscape may change'. To go back to the patient and say well actually barely anyone is working on it, Governments aren't pouring in the funding compared to other cancers, and no one wants to devote their life to solving it… That shattered hope.

At the Charlie Teo Foundation we offer that hope. Our community of supporters are filling the glass to the brim. With your contribution, we fund the best and brightest researchers to achieve a world without brain cancer.

I will never give up the fight against brain cancer. Charlie Teo Foundation has a strategy in place to stay focused and committed to finding treatments and a cure for brain cancer, even if those goals are not met in my lifetime.

Charlie Teo Foundation plans to far outlive me, and not stop until it has achieved our shared dream…

To Beat Brain Cancer

With all my love,

Dr Charlie Teo
