Bright Tree Album Launch
Description
After the success of "SLATLAND" in 2024, Dean Kalaitzidis is back with a second studio album "Bright Tree." Inspired by the music and philosophies of Andrea Keller and the Wayne Shorter Quartet, this new album blends 'flexible architecture' and 'comprovisation' together to tell the story of the Bright Tree; a friend as old as time whose ever watchful eye has long held open the bridge between the living world and the other side.
With a support set from Melbourne's legendary Andrea Keller, Bright Tree will be launching into the world of music on the 14th of November at 7:00 pm at the Merri-Bek/Cross Street Music Hall in Brunswick East.
Andrea Keller's Transients (7:30pm):
Andrea Keller - Piano
Niran Dasika - Trumpet
Kyrie Anderson - Drums
Dean Kalait Quartet (8:30pm):
Dean Kalaitzidis - Saxophones
Daniel Waddingham - Guitar

"Seeds of the future, sown some days past,
bare their first fruit, but not their last,
new life wanders here today.
Bright tree against dark omen,
night falls, the world opens.
Brilliant skies burn alight,
the space between hidden universes unseen.
Roots in dirt where water flows deep,
free shall be all who wander lost.
Standing tall, moving slow,
the river rising runs deeper still.
Long in the making, longer in the living,
Many more things may this thing make.
Four are one again in the boughs of the bright tree."
This launch takes place on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation and welcomes people from any and all walks of life. Come celebrate the joy of music and life with us!
