Event description

Looking for more calm, clarity and balance in your life?

This four-week mindfulness course is designed to help you reduce stress and bring greater ease and confidence to daily life. Each workshop-style class combines guided practice, practical strategies, and engaging discussion to help you apply mindfulness in meaningful and lasting ways.

“This course gave me practical tools to be less critical and more accepting — of myself and others. I now use mindful practices daily: morning writing, body scans, gratitude at night. Scheduling my day helped me see where my time was going and inspired me to make space for more meaningful things, like volunteering.” – Helena Cassells

You’ll receive a comprehensive course handbook and guided practice recordings to support your learning during the course — and well beyond. The handbook includes key strategies, weekly summaries, and space for reflection.

Between sessions, you’ll be encouraged to integrate what you’ve learned into everyday life, building the foundation for a more mindful way of being.

You will learn mindfulness-based techniques for:

  • Recognising habits that no-longer serve you well

  • Reducing stress, distraction and procrastination

  • Improving focus, confidence and communication

  • Bringing calm and clarity to daily demands, relationships and routines

“This course has empowered me with practical tools to bring mindfulness into daily life. The format was ideal — spacious enough to reflect, experiment and return with insights. I now feel equipped to live more mindfully, even in small ways.” Libby Illidge,

The course is led by acclaimed mindfulness teacher and longtime Magnetic Island resident Sharn Rocco PhD. Sharn brings more than 30 years of teaching, research, and practice, including studies with Thich Nhat Hanh and the Dalai Lama. Her approach blends the best of Calm Abiding Meditation, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and CARE for Teachers — grounded in lived experience and backed by research.

“Sharn’s teaching is calm, non-judgmental, and deeply insightful. The course booklet is a treasure — beautifully written and full of wisdom I’ll return to often.” –Tove Lemberget

Whether you're new to mindfulness or ready to deepen your practice, this course offers a practical, inspiring path to more presence, calm and connection.
