About the program

Bringing Up Great Kids (BUGK) supports the development of mindful and positive relationships between parents/carers and children through the use of interactive activities and discussions. The program will support parents and carers to:

• learn more about the origins of your own parenting style and how it can be more effective;
• identify the important messages you want to convey to the children in your care and how to achieve this;
• learn more about brain development in children and its influence on their thoughts, feelings and behaviour;
• understand the meaning of children’s behaviour;
• discover how to overcome some of the obstacles getting in the way of you being the kind of parents you would like to be; and,
• discover ways for you to take care of yourself and to find support when you need it.

    This program is being run in parternship with Metro Assist

    Facilitators: Kay Oo, Community Development Worker and Ana-Luisa Franco, Community Learning and Engagement Manager.
