Brisbane Book Launch: 'Right Here, Right Now: How women can lead the way in the climate emergency'
Event description
Join us on Thursday, October 13th for a very special Brisbane Book launch with Natalie Isaacs.Â
'Right Here, Right Now: How women can lead the way in the climate emergency'.Â
This critical decade is simultaneously a time for alarm and a time for great hope. We have to act like our own lives and the futures of everyone we love depends on it. Because that’s the truth. And it’s what this book is about.
‘What beautiful storytelling straight from the heart. This is a rallying call to women everywhere to be part of the solution for the climate crisis.’ Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
Impassioned yet clear-eyed, Natalie sets out what we as a community and as individuals can achieve in this decade and shares the wisdom of women who have inspired her, from local community leaders to international leaders, First Nations Elders to scientists, and activist campaigners to policymakers. The good news is, it is all possible -- we just have to unite as never before and get it done. Right here, right now.
ON THE NIGHT:Â
Natalie will share her personal story and set out what we all can do in this decade as a community and as individuals, with our MC for the evening, the fabulous Robin Bailey, radio host, podcaster, speaker, writer and long time ambassador for 1 Million Women.Â
And environmental scientist and Better Futures Australia Director, Lisa Cliff will also say a few words.Â
‘This book is my outpouring of the knowledge and understanding I've gained over the 12 years I've been acting on climate change. My journey into our climate reality has been a transformative personal experience. It's been the greatest awakening of my life.’ Natalie Isaacs, Founder of 1 Million Women.Â
