The role of leaders has shifted. In 2026, organisations are operating with five generations in the workforce, evolving expectations around flexibility and meaning, and workplaces that can move at speed due to rapid access to insight and information.

Future-proof leadership is not about predicting change. It is about ensuring leaders can adapt quickly, connect meaningfully, and build capacity in others while maintaining performance.

In this keynote, Trudy Macdonald will take you beyond traditional leadership approaches and into the next layer: what it takes to lead effectively in complex, fast-moving and increasingly human-centred environments.

Drawing on practical experience and contemporary leadership thinking, Trudy simplifies future-proofing into three essential disciplines: understanding the changing role of leaders, strengthening emotional intelligence as a performance capability, and building future-focused capability across individuals and teams.

This session will explore what this looks like in practice, from leading across generations and structuring teams that can move at speed, to building trust in tech-enabled workplaces and balancing care with accountability.

Trudy will also focus on how to grow individuals beyond technical skill into judgement and adaptability, build teams that can think and execute independently, and shift leadership from problem-solving to capability-building.

Whether you are leading teams, functions or organisations, this session will help you strengthen agility, connection and capability to sustain performance as work continues to evolve.

Key takeaways:

Understanding the changing role of leaders: leading across generations, acting decisively, and balancing delivery today with future readiness
Strengthening emotional intelligence: building trust, managing stakeholders and leading with both care and challenge
Building future-focused capability: developing individuals and teams to think, decide and perform with greater independence

Now is the moment to strengthen how you lead, not just what you deliver. Don’t miss this opportunity to future-proof your leadership and your organisation.
