🎄 Spread Joy and Love This Christmas — Adopt a Grandie!

This Christmas, you can help make sure an older person in our Brisbane and Gold Coast communities knows they are remembered, valued and cared for.

Our Grandies are older people who may have little or no family support and who have been nominated by their aged care facility, community organisation or support service to be part of our program.

Through the 2026 Brisbane Gold Coast Grandies Christmas Program, you can adopt a Grandie, shop especially for them from their personalised wishlist, and help make their Christmas a little brighter.

Every Grandie is different. Every wishlist is personal. And every adoption lets someone know that a person in their community was thinking especially of them this Christmas.

💜 Who We Are & How You Can Get Involved

Brisbane Gold Coast Grandies (BGCG) is a volunteer-run charity program of Magic Moments Foundation, created to bring joy, connection and dignity to older people who may otherwise receive little or nothing at Christmas.

Individuals, families, workplaces, community groups and businesses are all welcome to take part.

Each Grandie has a personalised profile and wishlist prepared with the help of the organisation that nominated them. You simply choose a Grandie, register their adoption through Humanitix, and then shop especially for them.

Whether this is your first year adopting or you've been part of our Grandies family for years, we'd love to have you join us for Christmas 2026.

🎁 How to Adopt Your Grandie

1. Browse our Grandies

Our Grandies will be available to adopt from Monday, 5 October 2026. Browse their profiles and wishlists here and find a Grandie you would love to spoil this Christmas.

2. Choose your Grandie

Once you've found your Grandie, take note of their unique Grandie code and name (for example: GK501-026 Grandie Bill).

3. Adopt them through Humanitix

Return to this Humanitix event and select the ticket matching your Grandie's unique code. There is only one adoption ticket available for each Grandie, so once they're adopted, they're taken!

If someone has adopted your chosen Grandie before you complete your registration, please choose another. There are plenty of wonderful Grandies waiting for someone just like you.

4. Download their wishlist & start shopping

Once you've adopted your Grandie, download or save their wishlist and enjoy shopping especially for them. You can find their profile and wishlist in the Adopted Grandies Database.

IMPORTANT – Can't find your Grandie in the Adopted Grandies Database?

Don't worry! Our volunteers manually transfer each adopted Grandie's profile from the Available Grandies Database to the Adopted Grandies Database, and this can take up to 24 hours after adoption.

Until their profile has been transferred, it will still be available to view and download from the Available Grandies Database. Although you can still see their profile there, their Humanitix adoption ticket will no longer be available, so they cannot be adopted by anyone else.

Please check both databases before contacting us about a missing profile.

Adoptions close Sunday, 15 November 2026, unless all of our Grandies are adopted earlier.

🚗 Getting Your Gifts to Us

Our Adopter Delivery Week is Monday, 16 November to Sunday, 22 November 2026.

We have a range of drop-off options across Brisbane and the Gold Coast, as well as a postal option for interstate adopters.

As part of your adoption registration, you'll be asked to nominate where you plan to deliver your Grandie's gifts.

Our delivery options include:

• Brisbane CBD and Nerang business locations – available Monday to Friday during business hours throughout Delivery Week.

• Private residential drop-off locations across Brisbane and the Gold Coast – available during the specific days and time windows shown when you select your location.

• Post – perfect for our interstate or regional adopters. Posted gifts must be received by COB Friday, 20 November 2026, so please allow plenty of time for delivery.

We'll send you a reminder before Delivery Week with the final details for your selected location, including the street address and contact information for your specifically selected private residential drop-off location (if applicable).

Please make sure your Grandie's gifts reach us during Delivery Week. This gives our volunteer team time to check and sort hundreds of gifts before Packing Weekend, ready for delivery to our Grandies.

If your plans change, you're welcome to use another available drop-off location — the important thing is that your Grandie's gifts reach us on time.

🎁 One Grandie = One Grandie Gift Bag

All gifts for your Grandie need to fit into one standard Grandies gift bag (33.5cm × 37cm × 33cm).

This helps us keep the program fair for every Grandie and allows our volunteers to safely sort, pack and transport hundreds of gifts.

You'll receive more detailed packing and delivery instructions after adopting.

💜 Making Sure Every Grandie Receives a Gift

One of our most important promises is that every Grandie nominated to our program receives a Christmas gift.

Once a Grandie appears in our adoption program, we are committed to them.

If you adopt a Grandie and something changes and you're no longer able to complete their wishlist, please contact us as soon as possible. There's no judgement — we simply need enough time to make other arrangements for your Grandie.

For any Grandies who remain unadopted, or where an adoption can't be completed, our volunteers use donated funds and community support to make sure nobody misses out.

If you'd love to support the program but aren't able to adopt this year, you can also make a donation through Humanitix. Donations help us fill missing wishlists and make sure every Grandie is looked after.
