Event description

The Queensland Government intends to pass legislation to exclude development for the 2032 Olympics from the usual planning and development approvals process. If this proceeds, civil society will lose its limited rights to be consulted and participate in planning and development decision-making. Is there a way forward for the community from here?

Join us on Tuesday 24 June to hear from a distinguished panel of speakers and a lively discussion of the way to from here.

Topics covered will include: an update on the Save Victoria Park campaign; comments on the proposed white water rafting development in Redlands; information about the Green Pathways, Gold Places project and sustainability wins from the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Your speakers at this event will be:

Caroline Stalker, Chapter President of the Australian Institute of Architects

Paul Turley, FDAI, Queensland Council Co-Chair at Design Institute of Australia; Teacher at TAFE Qld; Principal Designer at Home ReThink

Blair Palese, Director of Philanthropy at Ethinvest and Founder of the Climate Capital Forum

Sue Bremer, Team member, Save Victoria Park

Chris Walker, President of SEQCA and Secretary of Redlands 2030

We look forward to seeing you there!
