Brisbane Open House: Stradbroke Edition

Brisbane Open House presents a special Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) Edition, an exclusive opportunity to explore some of the island's architecturally significant homes and hear directly from the architects behind them.

The day begins at the Quandamooka Arts Centre for an architectural tour presented by Cox Architecture, before setting out on guided tours of four residences, each demonstrating a distinct response to Stradbroke Island's striking natural landscape and rich architectural heritage.

As one of the world's largest sand islands, Stradbroke presents a unique set of design challenges, demanding structures that are visually compelling as well as resilient to salt-laden winds, shifting sands and tropical weather.

Guests will discover some of Stradbroke's most striking architect-designed homes, with expert-led tours offering rare insight into the design philosophies, materials and environmental considerations that define these extraordinary residences.
