    Registration & Welcome

  • 9:00 am - 11:30 am

AM session #1 - Building the business case for investing in social performance

Show your CFO and CRO how poor social performance creates measurable business risk, cost, and lost value. Many organisations already create positive social impact, but often through disconnected activities rather than a coordinated strategy. This interactive masterclass introduces the Social Performance Framework and explores how a Social Performance Materiality Assessment can help identify, prioritise, and strengthen the social issues most relevant to your organisation and stakeholders. Social performance represents the "S" in ESG and focuses on how organisations create value for people through employees, suppliers, customers, and communities. Through practical exercises, facilitated discussion, and real-world examples, participants will learn how to assess current performance, identify material priorities, align social outcomes with business strategy, and build a compelling case for investment. Attendees will leave with practical tools and actionable insights to embed social performance across their organisation and create measurable value for both business and society.

  • 9:00 am - 11:30 am

AM session # 2 - Stories wired for impact: Content with conviction

A live content audit for social enterprise leaders Social enterprises are rich in stories but often lack the time and tools to create content that consistently delivers results. This hands-on masterclass, led by Bella Borello, provides a practical framework for assessing and improving content through a live group audit and collaborative workshop. Designed for founders, marketing leads, and senior leaders, the session focuses on creating content that builds trust, engages audiences, and supports organisational goals. Participants will learn the Three-Part Content Test, discover how to develop effective content pillars from existing activities, and gain insight into why audience scepticism can be an advantage for social enterprises. Attendees will leave with practical feedback on their own content, a repeatable framework for future communications, and clear, actionable steps to strengthen their content strategy and impact.

  • 9:00 am - 11:30 am

AM session # 3 - From box-ticking to genuine impact: Making social value core to how you do business

For procurement professionals, Social Value Managers, and Bid Managers Social value is often treated as a compliance exercise rather than a strategic opportunity. This interactive masterclass from Social Value Portal will explore how organisations can embed social value into core business practices to drive meaningful outcomes for communities and stakeholders. Using Social Value Portal’s Social Value Maturity Diagnostic, attendees will assess their current approach and identify practical actions for improvement. The session will also introduce the TOM System and demonstrate how it supports robust and credible social value measurement and reporting. Key takeaways: Understanding social value and how it is created. Learning how the TOM System measures and reports impact. Assessing organisational maturity and identifying next steps to embed social value effectively.

  • 9:00 am - 11:30 am

AM session # 4 - Purpose in Practice: Putting people at the centre of purchasing

When organisations use their purchasing power to create social impact, how do we ensure we’re doing it with people, not simply for them? This immersive masterclass explores the human side of social value, focusing on how organisations can make more inclusive, ethical and responsible decisions across purchasing, partnerships and supply chains. Rather than concentrating solely on outcomes, participants will examine how people with lived experience can be meaningfully involved in decisions that affect them, and how organisations can create genuine opportunity, agency and representation. Through facilitated discussion, real-world scenarios and practical examples, participants will explore power dynamics, inclusive decision-making and the responsibilities organisations have in addressing issues such as modern slavery and exploitation within supply chains. Using a conversational and interactive approach, attendees will leave with practical tools to strengthen social value outcomes, engage people with lived experience ethically, identify unintended barriers within organisational processes, and make more informed, people-centred decisions that create lasting impact for communities.

  • 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

    Lunch for everyone

PM session # 1 - How AI can help your team do less of the wrong work

The organisations growing sustainably are redesigning how they work, freeing up their people to focus on the work that matters most.  Purpose-driven organisations face growing demands, tighter resources and increasing complexity. This interactive masterclass explores how leaders can build capacity by simplifying processes, reducing low-value work and using AI strategically to support better ways of working. Through practical examples, peer discussion and expert guidance, participants will identify where time is being lost and uncover opportunities to streamline operations, reporting, communications and service delivery. Attendees will learn a simple framework to Stop, Simplify and Systemise work, gain confidence in adopting AI responsibly, and leave with practical actions to reduce burnout, strengthen resilience and increase organisational impact.

  • 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm

PM session # 2 - How do we get there? Designing the future together

Convene has explored social value, inclusive economies and purpose-led business. Now we ask: how do we make social performance business as usual? This interactive masterclass brings delegates together to identify barriers, opportunities and practical actions that can drive lasting systems change. Through facilitated discussion and collaborative problem-solving, participants will explore who needs to be influenced, where partnerships matter most, and what bold ideas can accelerate progress. Open to business, government, social enterprise, philanthropy and academia, the session will create new connections, shared insights and a collective roadmap for Australia’s social economy, helping shape policy, procurement, leadership and future practice.

  • 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm

PM session # 3 - Peer pollination: Meet, learn and share

A Social Enterprise Founder & Leader Exchange Peer Pollination is an interactive session designed for social enterprise founders, leaders and teams to connect, learn and share with others who understand the challenges of building impact-led organisations. Using an unconference-style format, participants help shape the agenda, exploring topics such as funding, impact measurement, commercial sustainability, leadership and founder wellbeing. Facilitated by CASEI, the session connects peers at similar stages of development, creating space for honest conversations, practical problem-solving and shared learning. Participants will leave with new connections, fresh insights and actionable ideas, drawing on the collective wisdom and experience of Australia's social enterprise community.

  • 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm

PM session # 4 - The legacy of Brisbane 2032 is already taking shape: How you can be a part of it

As Erin Hatton, Head of Games Impact, shared at Convene, the true impact of Brisbane 2032 is not being written on the track, but through the opportunities being created today. While many people associate the Olympic and Paralympic Games with elite athletes and memorable sporting moments, Brisbane 2032 presents a much broader opportunity to deliver lasting social and economic benefits across Queensland. This two-part session is designed specifically for social enterprises. In Part One, Brisbane 2032 procurement and supply chain leaders will provide practical insights into upcoming supplier opportunities, how to strengthen your visibility through the ICN Gateway platform, and what is required to become procurement-ready. Part Two explores how social enterprises can build capability, scale effectively, and leverage support available through Queensland's unique ecosystem. Featuring real-world case studies and lessons from major infrastructure projects, this masterclass will equip attendees with practical tools, stronger networks, and greater confidence to participate in the Brisbane 2032 legacy.
