Description

Join Bristol BID for our Annual Transport Event and hear the latest updates on planned and upcoming transport schemes across Bristol, as well as the West of England’s wider transport strategy.

With transport continuing to play an important role in how people travel to, from and around the city centre, this event is an opportunity for businesses to hear directly from key decision makers, ask questions and share their views on the issues that matter to them.

We will hear from:

Emma Blackham, Executive Director of Transport, West of England Combined Authority
Emma will provide an overview of transport in the West of England and what it means for Bristol and the wider region.

Councillor Ed Plowden, Chair of the Transport and Connectivity Committee
Ed will share his reflections on his work so far as Chair, including the priorities and challenges facing Bristol’s transport network.

Adam Crowther, Head of City Transport, Bristol City Council
Adam will provide an update on current and upcoming transport schemes across Bristol, including key projects affecting the city centre.

Have your say

After the presentations, there will be an opportunity to join one of three smaller discussion groups. These informal sessions will give you the chance to speak directly with the different transport teams, ask questions and discuss the transport issues that matter to your business.

The sessions will explore:

  • Developing our Transport Strategy - The West of England Transport Vision outlined that a crucial next step is to develop a Transport Strategy that will build on the ambitions set out in the vision and the Growth Strategy. This discussion will help inform the development of the regional transport strategy.

  • Bristol city centre: the future of Bristol – Ask your questions about current and upcoming schemes, access and disruption and share your views on proposed transport changes.

  • Bristol Workplace Parking and Transport Investment - A discussion of the options proposed for a Workplace Parking Levy. What it mean for your business, strategies for workforce to adapt, and how the city should the invest income on transport solutions.

We will capture the key points and feedback from these discussions to help inform Bristol BID’s ongoing work with Bristol City Council, the West of England Combined Authority and other transport stakeholders.

There will also be plenty of time to meet and connect with other senior business representatives from across Bristol city centre.
