Dave Eggar & Bristol Lightning Unplugged

Celebrated cellist and 5-time Grammy nominee, Dave Eggar, highlights this special evening, “Bristol Lightning Unplugged.” An avowed music historian and master storyteller, Eggar will guide the audience through music and conversation that features the roots of bluegrass and classical music, while combining those two styles as no one can.  Accompanied by Eggar's Bristol Lightning co-founders, Grammy-nominated guitarist Phil Faconti, and mandolin virtuoso, Blake Collins, Bristol Lightning Unplugged promises to be an unforgettable evening.

DAVE EGGAR (cello): He’s a student of the great American composer Aaron Copeland and the legendary cellist Yo Yo Ma. Eggar has performed, recorded and arranged for artists across genres, including: Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Coldplay, Foreigner, Frank Ocean and John Legend to name just a few. He is a Grammy-nominated composer, has scored multiple films and regularly performs in the classical and American roots music worlds. Dave teamed up with Phil Faconti and Blake Collins to form Bristol Lightning.

PHIL FACONTI (guitar): A two-time Grammy nominated producer.  His unique blend of classical, flamenco and contemporary styles creates a captivating musical journey for the listener, elegant and expressive. His recent recording endeavors include Lewis Capaldi, Foreigner, Norah Jones, Five For Fighting, Amber Rubarth, Ricky Montgomery, A Great Big World, Joey Bada$$ and more. He has performed extensively throughout the US and Europe. Phil is a Brooklyn, NY native, but currently resides in Bristol VA/TN.

BLAKE COLLINS (mandolin): One of the leading old time and bluegrass mandolin players in America. A third generation bluegrass player and historian, Blake has performed at major festivals throughout the country including FloydFest, Americana Fest, Rhythm & Roots and many others. He has appeared on record with artist such as Lee DeWyze, Hippocampus and Norah Jones. Blake is a graduate of the prestigious ETSU old time and bluegrass music programs and a co-founder of Bristol Lightning.

We are super excited to let you know that we are bringing MORLEY back to Jax for a concert on Saturday, Nov 16th! This will be her first show back since her sold out performance last February. She'll be joined by her husband, guitarist Chris Bruce (Meshell Ndegocello, Seal) and keyboardist Daniel Mintseris (Joe Jackson, St. Vincent). Tickets for that show won't go sale until next month, however we are offering a special discount for anyone buying a series package (tickets are normally $30 each, however buy the series package will take $10 OFF: one ticket to see both shows = $50 instead of $60)!  NOTE: The location for Morley's concert is not yet confirmed.
