Bristol Quiet Spaces: Delivering Value for Nature, Health and Development

This roundtable explores how quiet, nature-rich urban spaces deliver measurable value for both people and wildlife. Using the Bristol Quiet Areas Plan as a live case study, we will examine how soundscapes and green infrastructure contribute to biodiversity, health outcomes and long-term economic value.

This project is led by University of Gloucestershire, supported by a grant from the Ecological Citizen(s) Network+, an EPSRC-funded network, and delivered with partners including WECIL/Disability Inc, Hush City, Visit West and Tranquil City.

Through discussion with practitioners, policymakers and delivery partners, we will explore how these spaces can be embedded within development and city management, sharing early insights from citizen-led soundwalks with neurodivergent participants.

Who is this roundtable for?

This roundtable is aimed at consultants, developers, landowners, planners, asset managers, environmental organisations and policymakers across Bristol and the West of England.
