Jazz Masterclass: Artemis

This one-hour jazz masterclass is being offered with Artemis on May 14 from 5:00 - 6:00 pm.

ARTEMIS is a powerful ensemble of instrumental jazz virtuosos, founded by renowned pianist and composer Renee Rosnes. Named for the Greek goddess of the hunt, the multinational, multigenerational group features Renee Rosnes (piano, vocals), Ingrid Jensen (trumpet), Nicole Glover (tenor saxophone), Noriko Ueda (bass), and Allison Miller (drums).  

Each member is a brilliant composer and bandleader, bringing a distinctive voice to the band’s dynamic sound. From original music to mind-bending arrangements of eclectic material, ARTEMIS performs with power, passion, and high-wire intensity. Their latest album, Arboresque, released in February 2025 on Blue Note Records, showcases the group’s evolving artistry with standout originals and innovative interpretations. Honored as #1 Group of the Year in the DownBeat Readers Poll two years in a row, ARTEMIS continues to redefine what a jazz ensemble can be.
