Brookfield Wombat and Bird Walk
Description
Our event opens the gates to Brookfield Conservation Park for you to experience both the cryptic and abundant native wildlife - specifically the Southern Hairy nosed wombat and the numerous species of Mallee birds, followed by a chance to experience the vast night sky.
Join researchers and the Friends of Brookfield Conservation Park for two guided walks in the afternoon to witness and learn about the local native birdlife and the lives of the southern hairy-nosed wombat, as they come out of their burrows to graze. Each walk will take around one hour in the late afternoon and at dusk and suitable for ages 5+.
The park also lies within Australia’s only International Dark Sky Reserve making it one of the best places on earth to gaze at the stars above. Make sure you bring your own binoculars or telescope to check out the stars and planets above.
