Disaster Preparedness – Staying Informed and Safe

Strong communities recover faster from disasters. Whether it's checking on a neighbour, sharing important information, or helping someone access support, local communities play a vital role in preparedness and recovery.

Join Logan City Council for a free disaster preparedness presentation designed to help residents better prepare for emergencies and disasters such as severe storms, flooding, heatwaves, bushfires and power outages. The session will cover:

• Understanding local disaster risks

• Creating an emergency plan

• Preparing an emergency kit

• Staying informed before, during and after an event

• Looking out for vulnerable family members, neighbours and pets

• Accessing support and information during emergencies

To help you choose the time slot that best suits you, there will be three identical 20-minute presentations delivered throughout the event, allowing you to attend at a time that works best for you while still receiving the full presentation.

We’ll also have our regular Streets Company activation onsite, along with some special visitors for the kids. The Cedar Creek Rural Fire Brigade will be bringing along a fire truck display, where children will have the opportunity to climb through the trucks, sit inside, and learn more about the important role our local firefighters play in the community.

Participants will receive practical resources and a disaster preparedness document wallet containing useful information and tools they can take home to support their preparedness journey. Together, we can build a safer, more resilient Logan community.
