Martyn St has been an amazing home for our community for the past 6
and a half years, but the time has come for us to say goodbye with
one last tasty lineup!
We
love bringing incredible artists to Cairns, especially artists that
don’t typically visit the tropics, and for this show we’re doing
exactly that. You might not have heard of Sampology, he is a
phenomenal producer and DJ. We’ve been playing Sampology in the
cafe heaps in the past year so we’re stoked to have him play a DJ
set alongside a diverse line up of local artists. An avid record
collector since his teens, Sampology’s musical knowledge is so
broad, his sets traverse a range of genres and movements from across
the globe – we can’t wait!

BIO
Sampology is a Producer, DJ, radio host for Worldwide FM and vinyl enthusiast since his teens, based in Meanjin/Brisbane, Australia.
Growing up in an artistic family, (his Mum is a visual artist, his Dad and Aunty are orchestral players for Queensland Symphony Orchestra), it’s little surprise that Sam pursued music as a vocation from a young age. By his mid-teens he had discovered vinyl and a love for sample heavy music - early Native Tongues, The Avalanches, disco and soul. Sampling dance music made a huge impression on Sampology - indeed, his performer name is a nod to this early influence of sampling.
Sampology’s start in Brisbane venues began at 17, evolving to interstate & eventually overseas travel to DJ & perform in Europe & UK, America & Asia. This has been a valued part of his growth, connecting him to different communities abroad from Australia.
Over the past six years, he has organically progressed to producer of his own stunning releases: Natural Selections (2016), Mt Glorious (2018)featuring renowned special guests Georgia Ann Muldrow, Dudley Perkins and Jordan Rakei, Regrowth (2021) and Charlie Hill collab Galaxy dropping imminently.
His position in the Brisbane music community led to Gilles Peterson inviting him to join the Worldwide FM family in 2019. He has hosted a monthly show on the global station in the years which followed.
