Broulee Dolphins Rugby Raffle - Raising funds for our mates affected by bushfires
Event description
Hunters Hill Rugby and Broulee Dolphins Rugby have joined forces to raise funds for families directly impacted in the Broulee area. On the 21st of March, the Hillies will be heading to Broulee to take part in a massive celebration of all things rugby in support of our south coast cousins!
Broulee and the surrounding towns of Mossy Point, Tomakin, Rosedale, Malua Bay, Mogo and others have suffered as fires raced through the region over the past few weeks. Families from the rugby club have lost houses, the club itself has lost kit and they even had their watering hole burnt to the ground. Serious as this is, (and, without trying to diminish the personal toll off losing your home) all these things can be replaced. But, for the community itself, it’s more about survival, as the tourist dollar that keeps a lot of these towns afloat has evaporated overnight. What they need is as many people as possible to spend some time in Broulee and surrounds, as their immediate need is for people to be on the ground, in their towns, using local services and spending money.
The Dolphins were already planning a weekend for 21st March to celebrate 30 years at their current oval in Broulee. The premier event of the weekend will be the return to the playing fields for our Over 35’s Cats team.
If you can't make it but want to show your support - please buy a bunch of tickets! Some of the prizes are for local businesses so we hope that you would make a trip or two to Broulee at a later date to make use of it.
