Building Resilient, Trauma Informed Cultures (virtual, October-November)
Description
In this multi-session course, participants will learn how to apply the principles and practices of trauma informed care (TIC) to support the development of organizational cultures that:
recognize the prevalence, signs, and impacts of trauma;
infuse knowledge and shared vocabulary into policies, procedures, and practices;
actively resist re-traumatization; and
promote restoration, well-being, and growth
This course serves to equip an organization's internal facilitator for trauma informed culture change. Participants will come away with resources to build awareness of TIC in their organizations, to support the establishment of practices that align with the principles of TIC, and to navigate the challenges that arise with organizational change in a more trauma-informed manner.
Your registration fee includes:
access to a cloud drive with handouts, reference material, examples, and a slide deck you can adapt for your own orientation session
four half-days of deep-dive into the implementation of TIC
discussion with the trainers on key insights and successful strategies they have gleaned from their consulting work
the opportunity to connect with others in the class and invited panelists who are also working toward TIC implementation
an individual 50-minute follow-up coaching call with an implementation specialist from the Center for Trauma Informed Innovation
certificate of completion reflecting 14 contact hours (CEU-applicable for most professions; please refer to your credentialing organization's requirements)
This course will be offered live only, on October 19, October 26, November 2, and November 9 from 12-4pm Central time each day. Participants are expected to attend all 4 sessions to complete the course. No part of the course will be available asynchronously. The course is very interactive and requires full attendance and participation to receive both a certificate of completion and the resource cloud drive access. We strive to create a virtual training space that is similar to an in-person gathering, so we request that participants join the Zoom meeting with audio and camera in order to fully participate in both whole-group and breakout room discussions.
