START-UP FOUNDER STORY: Kate Morgan

If you think that founding a tech company with zero tech experience, while raising three young kids and finishing off a PhD sounds like fun, you should have a drink with Kate Morgan. She needs one. Following a career as a corporate dietitian and university lecturer, it wasn’t until Kate started having kids that she really started drowning in the mental load of life admin - the office work of life. So together with her husband, former NRL player Kirk Reynoldson who she met on Schoolies in the summer of ‘96, they built Eggy.

Eggy is an app that makes it so easy for busy people to store documents, categorise screenshots, remember bills, manage appointments and share grocery lists – all in the one place. Since launching in 2022, the Eggy app has been downloaded by nearly 25,000 other Australians desperate for a better way to manage and share life’s info. As the founder and Co-CEO of Eggy, Kate leads the research, marketing and community engagement while also helping to drive funding, product and people. While it’s been the toughest but most fulfilling thing Kate’s done in her professional life, she’s fuelled by the Eggy community. And coffee. Kate says “As a non-technical founder who’s had to do things the hard way, I’m always keen to share my Eggy story to help others find a way to win.” With the mission to unscramble life for households all over the world, there’s still so much more to come for Eggy.
