Buffalo Bill Brings the Wild West Home AGAIN
Event description
A large group of history reenactors from Wisconsin will be riding their horses into Le Claire, Iowa to present their full-blown arena experience -- "Buffalo Bill's Best of The Wild West." This two-day extravaganza will take place at Cody Elementary School -- a beautiful property across the street from Buffalo Bill's birthplace in Le Claire, Iowa.
Grounds are open to the public from 10:30-4:00 on Saturday June 28th and 10:30-3:00 on Sunday, June 29th, with plenty for folks to see and do all day long in the 1890s canvas boomtown camp. The one hour 20 minute Wild West arena show will take place on both Saturday and Sunday at 12:30 PM.
There will be shuttle buses running from downtown Le Claire (at the levee in front of the Buffalo Bill Museum) up to Cody School. Once on the grounds, Angela Meyer will be performing a concert each morning from 11:00 - Noon. There will be food trucks, children's games, etc.
Visit with the reenactors. Meet the legends of the Wild West and enjoy all the activities the camp has to offer. They have living history demonstrations, a kid's arcade, Annie Oakley rubber-band rifle shooting gallery, period correct vendors selling their wares, a gold panning station, teepee tours and so much more. The reenactors and their horses will be available for pictures, to answer questions and give demonstrations.
This event is an opportunity for families to see and experience living history.
