Event description
Presented by Carie Starr – Co-owner of Cherokee Valley Bison Ranch in Perry County, Ohio
The Wood Bison, once plentiful in the area, historically migrated from Blue Licks, Kentucky through Franklinton (Columbus) to Upper Sandusky, Ohio, generating passage for Native Americans, settlers, and Franklinton founder, Lucas Sullivant, who followed the buffalo trail north from Kentucky. This talk will focus on the historic buffalo trails and the migration, extirpation, and reintroduction of Buffalo in the Buckeye State.
