BUgFest #2 – Saturday 2 August 2025

The Cave Inn, 47 Balaclava St, Woolloongabba QLD 4102

The BUg (Brisbane Unplugged gigs) is a beloved music event (and maybe Brisbane’s best-kept secret) that happens every Tuesday night at its current home at the New Farm Bowls Club. It has been operating now for over 20 years.

The BUg is hosting its second one day music festival (BUgFest) at The Cave Inn, Woolloongabba on Brisbane’s southside on Saturday 2 August 2025.

What to expect?

If you love acoustic music, singer/songwriters, Celtic vibes, alt country, Indie folk, this is the festival for you!

Some of the BUG’s favourite performers will be on the bill for an event that will start at 3pm and finish around 10.30pm.

We’ve lined up a couple of our biggest name bands and splendid performers for what will be a cracking good time.

Between acts, there will be interactive sessions where musicians can jump in, play together, sharpen their skills and connect with fellow artists.

  • 4pm Songwriter Circle - 5 songwriters in the round - 75 minutes, hosts Sue Wighton and Lizzie Flynn

  • 5:15pm The Salty Sirens - duo in session space - 30 minutes

  • 5:45pm Sue Wighton & The Margaritas - 45 minutes

  • 6:30pm Good Tunes Session - session space - 45 minutes, BYO instrument, sheet music provided

  • 7:15pm Lizzie Flynn & The Runaway Trains - 45 minutes - stage

  • 8pm Singing Session with Don Jarmey and friends - session space - 30 minutes - BYO voice

  • 8:30pm The Trespassers - 45 minutes - stage

  • 9:15pm Open session - 30 minutes

  • 9:30pm Raffle draw

  • 9:45pm Amaidi - stage

The Cave Inn is a well-known Brisbane live music venue situated at 47 Balaclava Street Woolloongabba – complete with delicious pizzas and beer on tap.

For just $40 (pre-paid by midnight 1 August) or $50 at the door, you’ll get to experience some of Queensland’s finest musicians and entertainers strutting their stuff.
