Build & Sail a Pond Yacht

Usually, the grown-ups build the boats. This time, it’s the kids’ turn.

Young boatbuilders aged 8–15 can get hands-on with The Wooden Boat Centre Tasmania, building and decorating their own wooden pond yacht to take home. Staff and volunteers will guide participants through the 90-minute workshop, from construction through to sails, decoration and finishing.

Tickets: $35 per child/yacht.
One ticket covers one child, one pond yacht and one accompanying adult.
All materials included.
Suitable for children aged 8–15 accompanied by a responsible adult aged 16+.
6 yacht builds available per session.

Participants are invited to bring their finished yacht back on Monday for the Pond Yacht Regatta at Constitution Dock, with racing, prizes and plenty of fun on the water.

Held in the Noisy Boatyard as part of the 2027 Australian Wooden Boat Festival.
